Job Description: People Development & Training Specialist

Position Summary

The People Development & Training Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating learning and development programs that enhance employees' skills, performance, and career growth. This role ensures training initiatives align with organizational goals, supports talent development, and fosters a culture of continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

1. Training & Development Programs

  • Conduct training needs analysis (TNA) in collaboration with department heads and HR.
  • Design, develop, and deliver training programs (classroom, online, and blended learning).
  • Manage onboarding and orientation programs for new employees.
  • Maintain training schedules, materials, and records.

2. People Development

  • Implement talent development initiatives to support succession planning and career paths.
  • Support leadership and soft skills development programs.
  • Facilitate employee development plans in collaboration with managers.
  • Promote learning culture through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

3. Performance & Evaluation

  • Measure training effectiveness using KPIs, assessments, and feedback surveys.
  • Monitor employee progress and provide recommendations for further development.
  • Prepare regular reports on training outcomes and people development initiatives.

4. Learning Systems & Compliance

  • Manage Learning Management System (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
  • Ensure training programs comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of training activities and certifications.

5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with external vendors, trainers, and consultants when necessary.
  • Stay updated with trends and innovations in learning & development.
  • Recommend and implement improvements in training methodologies and development programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Education, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Training & Development, People Development, or HR.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design, adult learning principles, and training evaluation methods.
  • Experience managing LMS or e-learning platforms is an advantage.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to measure ROI of training initiatives.
  • Proficient in MS Office and digital learning tools.
