What We Do:

  • Expand research capabilities in renewables, battery metals, transition commodities, and new energy sectors like hydrogen.
  • Analyze individual projects such as solar farms, mines, and infrastructure operations to deliver economic and planning insights.
  • Build industry and plant engineering models and catalog carbon emission data using technical papers, production data, financial metrics, surveys, and site visits.

Our 2025 Focus:
This year, we are prioritizing South East Asia, particularly Indonesia. We are establishing a Jakarta office as our regional hub and are eager to collaborate with Indonesian professionals.

About the Role:

We are seeking an economist to join our research team in Jakarta. This economist role will be responsible to maintain AME's macroeconomics global content.

AME provides an opportunity to develop your technical skills and understanding as you work on large, complex problems with international partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • To conduct research on macroeconomics and mining commodities.
  • To create macroeconomic content / article that will be included in our database.
  • Work and collaborate with our economist team in Sydney
  • Present macroeconomics content to the management team in Jakarta and Sydney.
  • Collaborate with internal teams in Indonesia and Australia.

Role requirements, experience, and skills

  • Experienced in economic research for at least 2 years
  • Bachelor's degree in economy from top tier universities or other relevant subjects, Master's degree will be valued.
  • Good written and oral communication skills with the capability to convey complex technical detail into succinct English.
  • Strong cross-cultural management and communication with fluent English.
