About the Role
As a Vessel Planner, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring efficient vessel stowage and discharge/loading plans. This role plays a vital part in ensuring smooth vessel turnaround, operational safety, and optimal yard and berth utilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed stowage, loading, and discharging plans for all vessel operations.
- Coordinate closely with operations, shipping lines, and terminal control to ensure smooth execution.
- Monitor vessel progress and adjust plans as necessary to optimize time and resource efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and IMDG Code standards for dangerous goods.
- Analyze and evaluate operational performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of vessel activities and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Support the development of best practices in vessel and yard planning systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Shipping Management, Port & Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in vessel planning or terminal operations.
- Certified in IMDG Code and experienced in handling dangerous goods (highly preferred).
- Proficient in Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) and vessel planning software.
- Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
- Able to work in shifts and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced port environment.
