Job Desk – Forklift Mechanic
Position Summary
Responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of forklifts (electric, diesel, LPG) to ensure all units operate safely, efficiently, and with minimum downtime.
Main Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance based on schedule.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system issues.
- Perform repairs and adjustments on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and lifting systems.
- Replace defective parts, lubricate components, and ensure safety features are functional.
Troubleshooting
Identify root causes of equipment breakdowns quickly and accurately.
- Use diagnostic tools, manuals, and technical expertise to solve problems.
- Escalate complex issues to senior technician or supervisor when necessary.
Documentation
Record all maintenance and repair activities in service reports.
- Update service history for each forklift unit.
- Report parts usage and recommend parts replacement to supervisor.
Parts & Tools Handling
Ensure proper use and care of workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Request spare parts needed for service jobs in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the workshop and work area.
Safety & Compliance
Adhere to company safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Ensure all repairs meet operational safety standards.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) during work.
Support & Teamwork
Assist colleagues and provide technical guidance to junior mechanics when needed.
- Communicate effectively with service coordinators and customers regarding job status.
- Support emergency breakdown service calls and on-site repairs.
Key Requirements
- Vocational/technical school graduate in mechanical/electrical engineering (preferred).
- Minimum 1–2 years experience as a forklift or heavy equipment mechanic.
- Familiar with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Able to read technical manuals and diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physically fit and willing to work in field conditions if required.
- Own Forklift Forklift License (SIO) is a Mandatory
