Key Responsibilities:
-Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.
-Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and supplier innovation.
-Forecast procurement needs based on production schedules, inventory levels, and sales projections.
-Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and vendors.
-Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to ensure favorable conditions.
-Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
-Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery time, compliance).
-Maintain strong relationships with principals
-Able to bring new principals into the company.
-Manage purchasing budgets and track spending.
-Implement cost-reduction initiatives and value engineering projects.
-Approve purchase orders and ensure compliance with financial limits and policies.
-Develop and enforce procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
-Ensure compliance with company, legal, and ethical standards.
-Use ERP or procurement software to streamline processes and maintain accurate records.
-Coordinate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams for timely delivery of materials.
-Optimize inventory levels to balance cost efficiency and availability.
-Handle supply disruptions or shortages proactively.
-Able to work effectively with other members of the purchasing team
-Set performance objectives and evaluate results.
-Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
-Prepare reports on purchasing activities, savings, and supplier performance.
Qualifications:
-Have 5 to 10 years of experience in purchasing, with a strong background in both chemical trading and manufacturing companies, and in-depth knowledge of industrial chemical procurement processes for both local and imported materials
-Well-versed in handling a wide range of chemical items — including solvents, resins, acids, bases, additives, and specialty chemicals — while ensuring compliance with EHS standards, REACH, and MSDS requirements.
-Skilled in price and contract negotiation, supplier evaluation, and purchasing cost control to maintain efficiency and secure a stable supply of raw materials
-Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities
-Fluent in English (spoken and written)
-Can speak mandarin is a plus
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
-Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
-Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and target-driven environment
