Position Overview/Summary
To prepare accurate cost estimates and technical proposals for tenders and projects in the oil & gas, power
generation, infrastructure, or industrial sectors. The Estimation Engineer plays a critical role in assessing the
costs, risks, and timelines associated with project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tender and Bid Preparation: Review RFQs, tender documents, project drawings, specifications, and BOQs. Perform detailed quantity take-offs and prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontracting, logistics, and overheads. Prepare and submit technical and commercial bid packages in coordination with engineering, procurement, and commercial teams.
  • Cost Analysis and Budgeting: Develop detailed cost breakdowns and comparative pricing strategies. Identify cost-saving opportunities and assess potential financial risks. Analyze historical project data and market rates for more accurate forecasting.

  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination:

Request and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. Maintain a database of updated unit rates and material costs. Liaise with procurement for budgetary offers and technical compliance.

  • Technical Evaluation & Engineering Inputs:

Support engineering team with scope definition, clarification of client requirements, and development
of value engineering solutions.
Review project scope and identify any scope gaps or deviations.

  • Project Handover & Support:

Prepare technical and commercial clarifications.
Support contract negotiation and project award process.
Handover estimation documents to execution team upon project award.

  • Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil).
5–7 years of relevant experience in estimation, costing, or tendering roles (preferably in EPC, oil & gas, or
industrial sectors).
Strong knowledge of project pricing structures, construction methods, and contractual terms.
Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Candy, CCS, Primavera, or MS Excel).
Familiarity with international codes and standards.
Excellent analytical, communication, and technical writing skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
