We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Microsoft Customer Engineer specializing in Exchange infrastructure, administration and design. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Exchange Server management, administration, migration, and architecture, as well as expertise in Exchange Online administration and migration. This role requires a deep understanding of both on-premises and cloud-based email systems, and the ability to implement and manage complex Exchange environments. This role is customer-facing and requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with technical, non-technical and leadership contacts at customers.
Minimum Qualifications
Skills Required:
- 5+ years experience in customer-facing roles (architecture, admin, ops, IT/software support, consulting, on-prem & cloud), troubleshooting, and SharePoint customization/development.
- Bachelor's degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven record in delivering high-quality technical support and solutions.
- Experience planning, deploying, operating, and optimizing Exchange (on-prem, hybrid, online).
- Strong background managing & maintaining Exchange Server with high availability and performance.
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Experienced in planning and executing migrations (legacy → Exchange Server, on-prem → Exchange Online).
- Skilled in developing migration strategies & timelines to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Hands-on with data migration, ensuring integrity and consistency.
- Experience providing post-migration support and issue resolution.
- Knowledge of Active Directory & Azure AD.
- Familiar with email retention, compliance solutions, and hybrid Exchange setups.
- Proficient in PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.
Optional Skills
- Advanced knowledge of Graph API, Active Directory & Azure AD.
- Understanding of Well-Architected Framework and Cloud Adoption Framework concepts & implementation.
Certifications
Relevant certifications in Exchange, Microsoft technologies, or related fields are a plus.
