Job Purpose:
To ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective technical operation of assigned vessels in compliance with maritime regulations, company standards, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and manage day-to-day technical operations of assigned vessels, ensuring seaworthiness and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate and oversee all planned maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, and major refits.
- Liaise closely with vessel Masters and Chief Engineers to address technical issues promptly.
- Plan and control technical budgets, including monitoring of OPEX and CAPEX expenditures.
- Ensure all vessels meet classification society requirements, Flag State regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct regular vessel inspections and produce reports on condition, performance, and compliance.
- Assist in vetting, PSC inspections, audits, and surveys.
- Prepare dry-dock specifications, supervise yard work, and ensure timely redelivery of vessels.
- Monitor vessel performance (fuel, lubes, emissions) and initiate technical improvements.
- Ensure inventory control and optimal spare parts stock on board and ashore.
- Collaborate with procurement for timely ordering and delivery of spare parts and services.
- Ensure adherence to HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) practices and participate in incident investigations as needed.
- Provide technical support during emergency response and troubleshooting.
- Marine Engineering degree (Bachelor/S1) or equivalent.
- At least Min 2 years as Technical Superintendent.
- Solid experience in managing chemical cargo, tankers, or general cargo vessels.
- Experience with Indonesian port and regulatory authorities.
- Knowledge about ISM/ISPS/MLC auditing or Internal Auditing.
- Knowledge about SOLAS/BIMCO/MARPOL.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Budget and cost control experience.
- Familiarity with Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS).
- Knowledge of Class and Flag requirements (e.g., BKI, DNV, Lloyd's).
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Proficient with MS Office, Marine software.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Willing to travel and visit vessels or shipyards as needed.
