Summary

An Audio Engineer under this freelance role is responsible for preserving the original intent of content creation and delivering high-quality localized dubbing services that meet client needs and Bespoke Lab's standards. This role contributes to dubbing animations, movies, documentaries, and dramas into various languages, ensuring technical precision and creative excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recording sessions with voice talents, ensuring a professional approach and clear communication to capture clean, high-quality audio.
  • Perform editing, 2.0 and 5.1 mixing, mastering, and problem-solving for issues such as noise, echo, distortion, or sync mismatches.
  • Operate, test, and troubleshoot studio hardware and software (microphones, preamps, compressors, EQs, monitoring systems, DAWs) to ensure smooth workflows.
  • Organize and manage DAW sessions (Pro Tools), including track naming, session backups, file archiving, and file delivery preparation.
  • Sync audio precisely to video, adjust timing, and apply creative solutions to dubbing challenges.
  • Balance and combine dialogue with music and effects, ensuring clarity and consistency with industry standards.
  • Apply plugins effectively (EQ, compression, noise reduction, reverb, spatial effects) to achieve professional results.
  • Contribute to creative sound design and mixing for promotional content.
  • Collaborate closely with directors, producers, voice talents, and cross-functional teams to meet creative and technical requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with broadcast standards, delivery specifications, and quality control (QC) processes.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of dubbing, commercial film studio recording, or audio post-production experience.
  • Strong skills in recording, editing, 2.0 and 5.1 mixing, and mastering.
  • Proficiency in DAWs (Pro Tools) and plugin workflows.
  • Familiarity with the Mac Operating System.
  • Proficiency in using iZotope RX for noise reduction and audio restoration.
  • Solid understanding of signal flow, gain staging, monitoring systems, and session management.
  • Knowledge of microphone techniques, room acoustics, and noise control for dubbing/ADR.
  • Experience with Dolby Atmos mix (preferably).
  • Ability in speaking business-level English (preferably).
  • Critical listening skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to integrate feedback.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with talents, clients, and engineering teams.
  • Strong time management, adaptability, and ability to perform under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and a continuous learning approach to new tools and industry standards.
