Job Summary

The Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing materials and services required for construction projects. This role ensures that all materials meet technical specifications, quality standards, and project schedules while maintaining cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and subcontractors based on technical, financial, and delivery capabilities.
  • Review and analyze material specifications, drawings, and BOQ to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Request, compare, and negotiate quotations to obtain the most competitive pricing and terms.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to site.
  • Coordinate closely with project engineers, site teams, and warehouse departments to align procurement schedules.
  • Maintain updated records of supplier databases, purchase orders, and delivery status.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and assist in developing long-term vendor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
    (required).
  • 2-3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain, preferably in the
    construction industry
    .
  • Good understanding of construction materials, specifications, and cost estimation.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and procurement-related software.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work under tight deadlines.
