About the Role
As a Product Development Manager, you will lead technical support and product innovation for chocolate solutions in Indonesia, with potential scope across ASEAN. You'll work closely with customers to understand their needs, develop tailored product solutions, and support commercialization efforts.
This role also involves coordinating with factory teams on technical aspects of product projects, contributing to customer satisfaction, product quality, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities Include
Customer Technical Support & Engagement
- Provide expert advice on chocolate applications, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Conduct technical training to customers and internal teams.
- Build strong customer relationships to support business retention and growth.
Lead end-to-end new product development: from technical brief to lab samples, industrial trials, and commercial launch.
- Collaborate with Customer business development/commercial, CI&TS, and Manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and scalability.
- Identify market trends and customer needs to propose innovative solutions.
- Work closely with sourcing and PE team on cost leadership alternatives.
Manage a balanced portfolio of customer projects, prioritizing based on strategic impact.
- Track and report project progress, KPIs, and outcomes to regional leadership.
- Ensure timely delivery of solutions aligned with customer expectations and business goals.

Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with Customer Development/commercial, Marketing, Sourcing, and Manufacturing to align product strategies.

Training & Representation
Organize and lead chocolate product training sessions, innovation days, and co-creation workshops.
- Represent Barry Callebaut at industry events, trade shows, and technical forums.
About you
- Min. Bachelor Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry or other equivalent background
- Min 8 years of experience in product development / product applications / process in the food industry.
- Fluent in Business English, local languages such as Mandarin, Japanese are an added advantage
- Good knowledge of compound and chocolate and related application such as confectionery, ice cream, bakery are an added advantage
- Customer-centric mindset with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and a collaborative team player.
- Ability to challenge, plan, and organize effectively.
- Good knowledge of working tools (MS Office, Salesforce, SAP,…)

Garment Product Development Job DescriptionJob Summary:
Oversee the sample management and timeline execution of garment development from concept to pre-production.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the product development calendar and critical path to ensure all progress (prototypes, fit samples, sales samples, etc.) are met on time.
