What you'll do:
As an Engineering Manager you will be entrusted with leading a talented team responsible for delivering complex engineering projects that span multiple disciplines including mechanical, electrical, civil, instrumentation, and process engineering. Your day-to-day activities will involve overseeing project planning from concept through execution while ensuring strict adherence to international codes as well as local regulations. You will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams-ranging from operations to procurement-to ensure seamless project delivery. A key aspect of your role will be championing process safety initiatives by embedding best practices into every stage of design and operation. - Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver high-quality designs and projects that align with global standards, statutory regulations, and business objectives.
- Oversee compliance with international codes such as ASME, NFPA, API, IEC as well as local industrial standards relevant to Indonesia and Malaysia.
- Manage technical governance processes including drawing approval, change management, and documentation accuracy for all capital expenditure and modification projects.
- Plan, prioritise, and control the execution of both capital and sustaining projects within approved budgets and schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate closely with operations managers, procurement teams, safety professionals, and external suppliers to guarantee project readiness and successful commissioning.
- Supervise engineering deliverables throughout FEED (Front End Engineering Design), detailed design phases, and EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction) interfaces.
- Champion process safety by ensuring all design changes meet hazard management standards such as HAZID (Hazard Identification), HAZOP (Hazard Operability Study), LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis), and MOC (Management of Change).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on plant reliability, energy efficiency, equipment lifecycle management, and overall operational excellence.
- Mentor, coach, and develop engineers across both countries by promoting knowledge sharing, technical training programmes, and succession planning.
- Represent the organisation in interactions with government agencies, consultants, contractors, customers' engineering managers, joint operation partners, and internal stakeholders for approvals and audits.

- A minimum bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Mining Engineering; a master's degree is highly regarded for this position.
- At least 10 years' experience in plant design or project engineering within industries such as mining, oil & gas or FMCG-including at least 5 years spent in leadership roles managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Comprehensive understanding of international standards like ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), API (American Petroleum Institute), IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) along with local codes such as PUIL (Peraturan Umum Instalasi Listrik), DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety & Health), PESO (Petroleum & Explosives Safety Organisation).
- Proven ability to provide clear direction while fostering accountability among team members through effective coaching techniques that promote professional growth.
- Demonstrated expertise in technical risk anticipation/mitigation during both design phase & operational handover stages-ensuring robust process safety outcomes at every step.
- Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office suite alongside project management tools & design engineering software; familiarity with CAD systems & scheduling software is essential while SAP experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills-both written & verbal-with fluency in English required for effective stakeholder engagement across borders.
- Strong stakeholder management abilities enabling you to build trust-based relationships with internal colleagues as well as external suppliers/partners/regulators/customers' engineering managers/joint operation partners.
- Experience implementing Lean business principles within an engineering context-driving efficiency gains without compromising quality or compliance requirements.
