Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist – Digital Systems and Visualization

Overview

We are looking for an M&E Specialist to support the Jhpiego project, particularly strengthening the project’s capacity to generate, analyse, and communicate high-quality data. The project aims to assist the Government of Indonesia in identifying and delivering life‑saving targeted assistance in the areas of maternal, newborn, and child survival in order to reduce maternal, newborn, and child mortality.

Responsibilities
  • Provide input and recommendations to address project indicators in alignment with project scope and goals along with M&E activities.
  • Assist in developing effective and efficient monitoring systems, processes, and tools to provide quality (timely, accurate, and complete) data and generate evidence.
  • Design, maintain, and optimise digital data collection and management systems to ensure data quality, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis of project indicators and performance.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and visualization products to communicate progress, trends, and outcomes of project activities.
  • Input project data into DHIS2, conduct data validation, and create data visualisation.
  • Conduct analysis of project performance and progress based on data monitoring and provide feedback/input to the project team accordingly.
  • Check data quality and take corrective actions as necessary to ensure that the data/information generated is correct and reliable.
  • Produce high-quality data summaries, infographics, and visual reports for donor submissions, partners, and project learning events.
  • Conduct field visits to oversee how data collection and M&E processes are implemented on the ground and provide immediate support or corrective action as necessary.
  • Facilitate learning sessions to strengthen a culture of data‑driven decision‑making within project teams and partners.
  • Identify key challenges in project activities at the sub‑national level and provide specific recommendations for improvement.
  • Work closely with the M&E Advisor to document and prepare relevant M&E consolidated reports and presentations.
  • Deliver any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor related to project M&E activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in public health, data science, statistics, information systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in M&E within donor‑funded projects (UN projects, DFAT, Global Fund, etc.).
  • Experience working with local and international review boards in Indonesia.
  • Experience working in health programs, preferably in maternal, newborn and child health.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a strong eye for detail.
  • Proven experience with data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, or DHIS2) and digital data platforms (ODK, KoboToolbox, CommCare, etc.) to inform decision‑making and changes in project course.
