Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement packaging strategies for new products and through-life of existing products in line with brand, cost, supply chain, sustainability and manufacturing aims.
- Lead packaging material selection, structural design, graphics, print specification, and supplier management, ensuring quality, cost, and supply-chain reliability.
- Partner with Operation and Marketing to ensure packaging meets brand appearance requirements, shelf-impact, regulatory, and sustainability targets.
- Working with manufacturing/plant teams to ensure packaging equipment, processes and changeovers deliver required throughput, quality, uptime and cost targets.
- Drive continuous improvement in packaging process efficiency (ex: PKG material reduction, sustainable packaging, waste recycling)
- Ensure compliance with all relevant global/local regulatory, quality, and sustainability standards for packaging (ex: labelling, packaging waste regulations, recyclability).
- Recruit, develop and manage packaging team members to build capability and culture of innovation and operational excellence.
- Manage packaging budgets, supplier and vendor Relations for packaging materials and equipment.
- Lead new product (NPD) packaging activities: timelines, design freeze, pilot trials, handover to manufacturing, and post-launch review.
- Collaborate with QA & logistics to evaluate packaging transportation, storage, and shelf-life implications of packaging choices.
- Stay abreast of packaging technology and sustainability trends (e.g., lightweighting, mono-materials, high-barrier films, CO₂ footprint, digital print) and propose innovations to stay ahead in the market.
Requirement:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in any relevant major
- Has minimum 7+ years of experience in
Packaging Management
preferably from
manufacturing
industry - Professional certification in packaging engineering or sustainability (e.g., Certified Packaging Professional) is a must, Six-Sigma/Lean credentials is an advantage
- Design & operational understanding in PKG molds
- Experience of high-speed packaging lines in FMCG (e.g., aerosols, liquids, powders, rigid/flexibles) and packaging automation.
- Familiarity with CAD tools or packaging structural design software, Solid works Etc.
- Ability to communicate is English (written & verbal)
