Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Commis to join our culinary team in Jakarta, Indonesia. As a Commis, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to recipes and chef instructions
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food production
  • Properly store and rotate food items to minimize waste and maintain quality
  • Assist in the preparation of mise en place for different sections of the kitchen
  • Support senior chefs in plating and presenting dishes to meet quality standards
  • Participate in kitchen inventory and stock management tasks
  • Contribute ideas for menu improvements and new dish creations
  • Adapt to changing priorities and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
  • Continuously learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs

Qualifications

  • Basic culinary skills and knowledge, with a passion for food and customer service
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform kitchen duties
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately

  • Goal-oriented with a desire to grow and advance in the culinary field
  • Basic knowledge of local Indonesian cuisine is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary education or training is preferred
