Role Overview
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on automation, scalability, and operational excellence. This includes building and managing CI/CD pipelines, deploying containerised workloads, ensuring security and compliance standards, and supporting cloud migration projects. The role requires hands‑on technical expertise with Infrastructure‑as‑Code, container orchestration, and monitoring tools, as well as the ability to collaborate with architects, developers, and clients to optimise performance and cost. The engineer will play a critical role in enabling reliable delivery of cloud services for the client’s customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring of cloud applications and services.
- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery strategies for critical systems.
- Apply security best practices across environments, including policy management, encryption, and compliance controls.
- Support and execute cloud migration projects following the methodology, covering Assess, Mobilise, and Migrate & Modernise phases.
- Participate in architecture discussions and support the delivery of customer solutions, collaborating with cross‑functional teams in Agile delivery frameworks.
- Support cloud cost optimisation and provide guidance on well‑architected designs.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Experience: At least 2 years as a DevOps Engineer in the IT industry.
- Experienced in designing, building, and maintaining cloud infrastructure.
- Previous experience working for a consultancy.
- Experience with GitOps methodologies.
- Knowledge of serverless architecture using API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.
- Exposure to compliance standards such as ISO 27001, SOC2, or PCI‑DSS.
- Familiarity with multi‑account environments.
