Position: Head of R&D (Aquaculture)

Location: Kendal, Indonesia (Full-time)
Alternative Option: Thailand-based Consultant/Advisor (must be willing to travel to Kendal regularly)
Our client is a leading integrated seafood and aquaculture producer in Indonesia, specializing in shrimp and fish farming, feed production, seafood processing, and export. The company is renowned for innovation, high-quality standards, and compliance with international food safety certifications such as BPOM and BRC.
As part of its strategic growth, the company is expanding its R&D capabilities, particularly in Surimi and processed seafood products.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all R&D activities for Surimi and seafood products.
- Develop new formulations and improve existing recipes, processes, and methods.
- Conduct pilot testing and scale-up trials for new products or process improvements.
- Introduce and implement new technologies in fish/shrimp culture and seafood processing.
- Ensure all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements (BPOM, BRC, customer audits).
- Prepare and maintain R&D documentation and technical records.
- Manage the R&D team, budget, and project timelines.
- Collaborate closely with Production, QA/QC, Engineering, and Commercial teams to ensure successful commercialization.
Mandatory:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Technology or Food Science.
- Minimum 5–10 years of recent experience as an R&D Manager in a seafood manufacturing company.
- Proven expertise in Surimi product development, formulation, and processing.
- Knowledge of the seafood market.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience managing R&D teams.
- Willingness to relocate to Indonesia or work as a Thailand-based Consultant/Advisor with regular travel to Kendal.
Preferred:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Food Science, Biotechnology, or Aquaculture.
- Experience with aquaculture (shrimp/fish farming) or seafood processing.
- Hands-on experience with pilot tests, process improvement, and product innovation.
- Familiarity with international food safety standards and compliance
