Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute testing & commissioning activities for MV and LV switchgear, protection relays, circuit breakers, and associated systems
Prepare method statements, risk assessments, test procedures, and commissioning schedules
Conduct functional tests, including:
Insulation resistance, contact resistance, and high-potential (Hi-Pot) tests
Secondary & primary injection tests on protection relays and CT/VT circuits
Circuit breaker timing, trip unit verification, and interlock testing SCADA, inter-tripping, and protection coordination checks
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during commissioning
Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, and local standards
Maintain accurate test records, reports, and as-built documentation
Support handover activities and provide training to clients/end-users
Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and client representatives on-site
Follow strict safety protocols and quality assurance requirements
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical or Power Engineering (or equivalent)
Fluent English
Prefer background in contractor company
3–5 years of experience in MV (3.3kV–33kV) and LV switchgear testing & commissioning
Strong technical knowledge of: MV & LV switchgear design and operation
Protection relays (Siemens, ABB, Schneider, SEL, etc.)
Power system protection schemes & coordination
Hands-on experience with test equipment (OMICRON, Megger, Doble, etc.)
Familiarity with substation automation systems (SAS), SCADA, and communication protocols (an advantage)
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and site teams
Willingness to travel and work on project sites
Preferred Qualifications
Certified in HV/MV/LV testing & commissioning (OEM, IEC, or accredited training)
Knowledge of safety standards and permit-to-work systems in electrical installations
Experience in large-scale industrial, commercial, or utility projects
