The Role: Experienced Cashier
We are seeking a highly meticulous and experienced Cashier to handle all financial transactions for our shipping agency operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent cash handling skills, a strong accounting background, and a dedication to accuracy and financial integrity. This role is crucial in ensuring seamless financial workflow and proper documentation, acting as the front-line gatekeeper for the company's funds.
Key Responsibilities
- Process all incoming payments (e.g., local charges, freight payments, D.O. fees) via cash, bank transfers, and checks with utmost accuracy.
- Manage all outgoing payments (e.g., Disbursement Accounts (DA) for vessels, operational expenses, port fees, vendor payments) promptly and correctly.
- Issue official receipts, payment vouchers, and ensure all supporting documents are properly authorized and filed.
- Perform daily cash reconciliation and balance the cash fund against transactional records, reporting any discrepancies immediately.
- Manage the petty cash fund and ensure all disbursements are properly documented and reconciled daily/monthly.
- Prepare daily cash collection and payment summary reports for the Accounting Department.
- Strictly adhere to company financial policies, security protocols, and Indonesian cash handling regulations.
- Provide professional and courteous service to internal and external stakeholders during payment/collection processes.
Qualifications and Requirements
Mandatory:
- Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Economics (preferably majoring in Accounting).
- Experience: Minimum 3 - 4 years of proven experience as a Cashier in a Shipping Agency, Freight Forwarding, or Logistics company.
- Language: Fluent in both written and verbal English for business communication.
- Technical: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software.
- Integrity: High level of honesty, integrity, and exceptional attention to detail.
- Commitment: Must be willing to work under an Outsourcing Contract status from an authorized vendor of PT. Sinotrans Overseas Indonesia.
Highly Preferred:
- Ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin (speaking, reading, and writing) due to frequent coordination with principals and internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the specific financial documentation and terminology of the Shipping Agency business (e.g., Disbursement Account - DA, Bill of Lading - B/L).
