Requirements:
- Proven experience in Linux and Windows system administration.
- In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, WSUS, and GPO.
- Experience working with both virtualized (e.g., VMware) and physical server infrastructures.
- Familiarity with backup and archiving solutions (e.g., Veritas NetBackup, EMC Networker, LTO Tape management) and best practices.
- Strong understanding of system patch management workflows.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Having professional certification would be an advantage e.g., RHCE, MCSE.
Main Responsibilities:
- Performing technical evaluations, analysis, and troubleshooting for on-premises servers and ensuring all systems perform at optimum levels (system user response, disk allocation, memory optimization) to achieve high performance, reliability, and availability of the system.
- Reviews the use of hardware, the load of servers, and storage capacity, provide capacity analysis as an input for proper planning.
- Plans and implements server upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches.
- Perform regular maintenance functions following established processes such as backups and patching, daily system monitoring, reviewing logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
- Cooperates on business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
- Ensures compliance with license and other agreements defines local standards, ensures the global standards are met.
- Take the initiative and begin projects when necessary, managing the priority of projects, co-ordination, ensure all project implemented according to the timeline.
- Follow IT Service Management best practices for all service functions focusing on incident management and change management.
