Business Analyst Specialist will serve as a critical bridge between our finance operations dan mining technical teams specializing in financial processes and systems within the unique context of the mining industry. This role is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and validating the financial business needs of our mining projects and corporate functions, translating them into detailed functional specifications for system enhancements, process improvements, and new solution implementations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial principles, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with mining industry operations and associated financial complexities.
Responsibilities
- Partner with finance stakeholders (e.g., controllers, treasury, risk management, capital expenditure teams) and operational teams to gather, understand, and document business requirements for financial systems, processes, and reporting.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of existing financial processes within the mining context (e.g., project finance, capital budgeting for mines, cost accounting for extraction, hedging strategies for commodities).
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency gains in financial workflows.
- Translate complex business requirements into clear, concise, and detailed functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and process flows.
- Collaborate with technical teams (developers, solution architects) to design and validate proposed solutions that meet business needs and align with financial system capabilities (e.g., ERP modules like SAP FICO, Oracle Financials).
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for financial processes, system configurations, and user guides.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mining Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, or similar role with a strong focus on financial systems and processes.
- Mandatory: Proven experience working within the Mining, Oil & Gas, or other heavy industry sectors, specifically understanding financial operations in these environments.
- Experience with financial planning & analysis (FP&A) tools, treasury systems, or risk management platforms is a plus.
- Strong facilitation and negotiation skills to bridge gaps between business and technical teams.
- Track record of successfully delivering projects from conception to implementation
