ERA (Energy & Risk Accounting) Analyst

From finance and HR to procurement, customer operations, and IT, our SSC is the backbone that keeps businesses running smoothly. One of our key areas of support is for Aster Chemicals & Energy (ACE), a leading chemical and energy solutions provider in Singapore and the Asia Pacific. ACE combines the legacy of Singapore's first oil refinery with cutting-edge petrochemical operations, jointly owned by Chandra Asri Group and Glencore, one of the world's largest natural resource companies.
PURPOSE:
The ERA Analyst supports the end-to-end Energy and Risk Accounting operations, ensuring accurate stock recording, reconciliation, and valuation. This role contributes to month-end closing, financial controls, and continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams and the ERA Manager.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Perform stock recording, reconciliation, purchase invoicing, and mass balancing activities.
- Support stock valuation processes and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Assist in the month-end closing process, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Collaborate with site teams including Accounting, Operations, Supply to ensure data integrity and process alignment
- Monitor and maintain financial controls to mitigate reporting risks.
- Participate in system and process improvement initiatives, including S4 HANA implementation.
- Provide timely analysis and resolution of operational issues impacting ERA processes.
- Contribute to the development of consistent hydrocarbon management (HM) accounting practices.
DIMENSIONS:
Aster Group of Companies consists of Bukom Refinery, Bukom Ethylene Cracker Complex, Jurong Island Chemicals assets and commercial and commercial teams, total about 1500FTEs. Annual turnover is around US$10-15bln.
SKILLS & REQUIRED
- At least Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the area of hydrocarbon accounting for manufacturing, energy, or chemicals sectors.
- Understanding of costing and financial processes related to stock and inventory.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- High attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrates integrity, teamwork, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Proficiency in Business English (written and oral)
