Tasks and responsibilities
Reporting to Procurement & Sourcing HOD on day-to-day operations of assigned Procurement tasks and any other ad-hoc activities.
- Responsible for planning, negotiation, improvement and implement the savings for all assigned activities and tasks
- Proposes new procurement programs and processes that will improve cost, quality, deliveries, and stakeholder responsiveness in all areas of responsibility and task assigned.
- Responsible for sgl. source material development for assigned commodities.
- Participating in the meeting, working together with all related departments, and report accordingly (e.g., DR - Design Review projects, Escalation updates, Daily Production meeting, and any other related meetings assigned by HOD)
- Enforce internal controls and procedures to ensure purchasing activities are conducted in compliance with policies, regulations, and related legal requirements.
- Prepare Procurement related reports on any interval periods as required by HOD and company.
- Maintains procedures and record-keeping for all areas of responsibility.
- Take responsibility of any ad-hoc task assigned by HOD and coordination accordingly.
- Couching and guide members of team for the improvement process and participate in staff development programme
- Interact, coordinate and negotiate with existing suppliers for the purpose of commercial terms and other relevant topics for further improvement.
- Contact open source for user requests or enquiries besides searching for an alternative source.
- Work together and coordinate with all relevant departments for Supplier Release and Material Release related topics.
- Create / review / approve PR / PO
- Visit supplier’s facilities for the purpose of assigned audits, review and negotiations.
- Required to work very closely with HOD and coordinate with all relevant project leaders and requestors in all assigned tasks and responsibilities.
- Required to establish and maintain effective communications and relationships with individuals and groups at all levels within and outside in relation to duties.
- Education: Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical / Material Science / Chemical
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of working experience in Procurement / Sourcing
- Knowledge: Good work experience and knowledge in global sourcing and market strategies.
- Effective communication in English (spoken & written)
- Excellent knowledge of computer applications
- Hands-on in Power Point Presentation and SAP system
- Personal attributes: A good team player with strong interpersonal skills, outgoing personality, good listener and ability works independently with minimum supervision.
- Able to work effectively under pressure and on strict deadlines and in a multicultural setting.
- Ability to analyze procurement problems and make appropriate recommendations.
- Ability to develop in-depth knowledge for any responsibilities or tasks assigned.
- Able to adapt and embarrassing of any technology change in the Procurement processes.
- Physical condition: Healthy to perform assigned tasks
- Able to travel overseas when required
