I. Job Summary

The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution and quality assurance of the 4G to 5G network site upgrade project. This role involves meticulous supervision, inspection, and testing of all telecommunication equipment installation activities, guaranteeing full compliance with project specifications, vendor requirements, national regulations, and established quality standards.

II. Key Responsibilities

A. Quality Assurance (Process Focus)

  • Standard Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and project-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for 5G site upgrade activities.
  • Documentation Review: Review and validate all technical documents, including Site Installation Instructions (SII), Method of Procedures (MOP), Bill of Materials (BOM), and site survey reports prior to commencement of work.
  • Contractor Management: Conduct pre-work briefings and training sessions for contractors and field teams on quality requirements, safety protocols (HSE/K3), and specific 5G installation standards.
  • Material Inspection: Oversee the incoming material inspection process (IMI) for all 5G equipment (Antennas, RRUs, BBUs, fiber optic cables, power systems) to ensure accuracy, integrity, and certification compliance.

B. Quality Control (Product Focus)

  • Installation Supervision: Perform rigorous on-site inspections and supervision of 4G equipment dismantling and 5G equipment (e.g., Massive MIMO antennas, new RRUs) installation on telecommunication towers/poles.
  • Critical Checks: Verify all critical installation aspects, including:

  • Structural integrity and load bearing post-upgrade.

  • Proper cable routing, labeling, and termination (Fiber & Power).
  • Waterproofing and weatherproofing of all outdoor connections and enclosures.
  • Grounding and lightning protection system integrity, ensuring compliance for sensitive 5G gear.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Participate in and lead the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) activities, including:

  • Integration and commissioning of the 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) components.

  • Verification of power system functionality and capacity.
  • Initial functional testing of 5G coverage, throughput, and latency performance.
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, and track non-conformance issues (NCs) or defects using a formal tracking system, and ensure timely and satisfactory closure/rework by the contractors.

C. Reporting and Documentation

  • Generate daily, weekly, and final QA/QC inspection reports, complete with photographic evidence and detailed findings.
  • Prepare and submit the final Site Acceptance Documentation (SAD) and audit reports for management review and final sign-off.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and organized archive of all quality records, test results, and handover documents.
III. Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Telecommunications Engineering, with at least 1 years specifically in QA/QC for mobile network installation/rollout projects.
  • Technical Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of 4G (LTE) and 5G NR architecture and deployment standards.

  • Proven experience in supervising the installation of RAN equipment (e.g., Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia).
  • Familiarity with industry standards for tower climbing safety and RF safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in utilizing testing tools for performance verification (e.g., Drive Test tools, Fiber Optic testers).
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with technical teams and project stakeholders.
