As a
Research and Development Lead
, you'll drive the creation and execution of new product innovations that shape the future of our food brands. Your work will directly impact the success of product launches, operational scalability, and our brand growth. You'll be the hands-on expert and strategic thinker behind products that are not only loved by customers but also make business sense.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development of new food and beverage products—from concept ideation to prototyping, testing, and commercial launch.
- Define product innovation strategies that support brand growth and meet commercial goals (including revenue, COGS, and scalability).
- Ensure all new products are operationally efficient, unique, and align with outlet processes and capabilities.
- Design and manage end-to-end innovation timelines, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery across teams.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance) to execute successful launches.
- Ensure all new menu items are halal certified before launch and comply with food safety standards.
- Monitor and optimize product cost structure (COGS) to align with business targets and pricing strategies.
- Conduct risk assessments for production equipment and tools used at the outlet level, especially for high-risk implementations.
- Document every stage of the product development process to support traceability, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitive innovation to proactively identify new opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Culinary, Food Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience leading R&D in food service, F&B companies, or flavor development organizations.
- Proven track record of launching commercially successful and operationally viable F&B products.
- Solid understanding of food production, menu engineering, and halal certification processes.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple timelines and stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented, solutions-driven, and passionate about continuous improvement.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
