Job Description
We're looking for a hands‑on Engineering Manager who's ready to lead a small but mighty scraping team, work directly with real‑world data, and build robust automation pipelines.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain web scraping programs and scripts to gather data from various web pages.
- Manage and analyze data sets obtained through web scraping, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Test, maintain, and troubleshoot web scraping processes to identify and resolve any issues or errors.
- Process, clean, and transform data sets to ensure consistency and usability.
- Collaborate with different teams in the organization to understand data needs and requirements.
- Support and guidance in utilizing and interpreting data for operational and sales purposes.
- Assist in automation projects to streamline data gathering and analysis processes.
- Develop and implement data scraping procedures and best practices.
- Utilize DevOps and Cloud Computing technologies, such as AWS and GCP.
- Perform other duties as assigned related to data operations and analysis.
- Manage, coach, and support engineering team.
- Create a technical strategy and budget proposal.
- Implement and monitor technical strategy performance metrics.
- Communicate engineer team goals with engineering staff members.
- Coordinate internal teams to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
- Lead and manage the Indonesia‑based engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Take responsibility for delivery of development projects executed by both Indonesia and European teams, ensuring timelines, quality, and alignment with business goals.
- Work closely with the European Engineering Lead and Tech Leads to align technical direction and project execution.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions to strengthen system design, scalability, and maintainability.
- Guide the evolution of tech stack, platform scalability, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams to define and implement technical solutions.
- Maintain a strong understanding of frontend, backend, and infrastructure components to make informed decisions.
- 3+ years of experience in data operations, web scraping, or related roles, with at least 1 year in a leadership or managerial role.
- High attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Knowledge of DevOps and Cloud Computing technologies is a plus.
- Relevant work experience in the field.
- Not currently under contract with any company.
- Responsible, dependable, hard‑working and proactive.
- Willing to learn and grow professionally.
- Willing to work full on‑site in Bandung.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or related field of study.
- 8+ years’ of management experience in Data Center, Construction, or Mechanical Engineering company.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Minimum 8 years of software development, with 4+ years in technical leadership and people management (preferably as Squad Lead or Engineering Manager in a startup/SaaS environment).
- Proven track record of building and leading high‑performing teams, with strong delivery responsibility in Agile environments.
- Hands‑on experience in designing and implementing scalable software architectures.
- Expertise in Java & Spring, PHP & Laravel, or Frontend frameworks (Angular, EmberJS, TypeScript).
- Strong understanding of microservice architectures, SQL databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), Redis, RESTful APIs, and CI/CD.
- Experience with complex queries, queues, Docker, Git, and software security best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Certifications in Project Management, Software Architecture, Scrum/Agile, and/or AWS.
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration in production is a plus.
