About the role
Join team as the Vice President of Freight Forwarding. This is a full-time position based in North Jakarta, Jakarta Raya. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's freight forwarding operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions for our diverse range of clients.
What you'll be doing
- Strategically manage the freight forwarding department, optimising processes and procedures to enhance service delivery
- Oversee the coordination of import and export shipments, including air freight, sea freight, and ground transportation
- Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics service providers
- Analyse operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of logistics services
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal standards
- Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of freight forwarding professionals to drive continuous improvement
What we're looking for
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a senior freight forwarding or logistics management role
- Extensive knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs clearance, and supply chain management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to optimise logistics operations
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients, carriers, and stakeholders
- Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team
- Proficiency in using logistics management software and data analysis tools
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
