Role Overview
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on automation, scalability, and operational excellence. This includes building and managing CI/CD pipelines, deploying containerised workloads, ensuring security and compliance standards, and supporting cloud migration projects. The role requires hands-on technical expertise with Infrastructure-as-Code, container orchestration, and monitoring tools, as well as the ability to collaborate with architects, developers, and clients to optimize performance and cost. The engineer will play a critical role in enabling reliable delivery of cloud services for client's customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring of cloud applications and services.
- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery strategies are in place for critical systems.
- Apply security best practices across environments, including policy management, encryption, and compliance controls.
- Support and execute cloud migration projects following the methodology, covering the Assess, Mobilise, and Migrate & Modernise phases.
- Participate in architecture discussions and support the delivery of customer solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile delivery frameworks.
- Support cloud cost optimisation and provide guidance on well-architected designs.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or any other related discipline.
Experience:
At least 2 years of working experience in DevOps Engineering functions within the IT industry.
- Experienced in designing, building, and maintaining cloud infrastructure.
- Previous experience working for a consultancy.
Technical Skills:
Experience with GitOps methodologies.
- Knowledge of serverless architecture using API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.
- Exposure to compliance standards such as ISO 27001, SOC2, or PCI-DSS.
- Familiarity with multi-account environments.
- Language Skills: business-level oral and written English.
