URGENTLY NEEDED
(Quantity Surveyor of Steel Structure and Civil Engineering, Mandarin Speaking)
We are searching for a reliable quantity surveyor to join our company. The quantity surveyor will be tasked with analyzing existing budgets and making improvements, reviewing plans and preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with various contractors and vendors, as well as building relationships with clients and site managers.
Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:
- Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
- Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
- Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
- Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
- Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
- Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
- Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
- Traveling from the office to various sites as required.
BREAK DOWN DAILY JOB:
l Preparation and submission of bidding/quotations and cost estimate report.
l Able to calculate cost of construction for project tenderings (Pre-Contract) based on the tender drawings and documents.
l Evaluate all tenders/quotations from suppliers/sub-contractors.
l Manage and control all tender, contract and project documents and drawings.
l Control all stages of projects within predetermined budget and expenditure.
l Prepare, submit and follow up of monthly progress claims, variation works, and final accounts.
l Prepare and evaluate the certification of supplier's/sub-contractor's monthly claims, variation works, and final accounts.
l Attend all site valuation and meetings, when needed.
l Assist in all projects contractual and costing matters.
l Responsible for contract and project tender
l Coordinate and liaise with the consultant, sub-contractor for the contract matters.
l To monitor progress, coordinate the planning and follow-up of the project in close cooperation with Project Manager.
Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or similar.
- Construction estimating or finance experienced is advantageous.
- At least 3 to 5 years above of working experience in tender management
- l Familiar with Contract.
- l Understand the works flow for the installation works for contract.
- l Able to work independent, handle tendering stage and resolve all the outstanding contractual issued such as back charges, extension of time, final account, variation order and etc.
- l Experienced in doing condominium/factory/warehouse building construction.
- l Candidate must be able to speak, read and write proper English and Mandarin. Experience in working with international working culture is preferred.
- l Applicants must be willing to travel when required.
To be successful as a quantity surveyor, you should have a methodical approach and superb interpersonal skills. Outstanding quantity surveyors are not only great at analyzing costs, but they also know how to read people and tailor their negotiation strategies to ensure the best possible outcome.
