Key Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Project Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all on-site construction activities for roadworks.
- Ensure construction is executed according to drawings, specifications, and project timelines.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, contractors, and government authorities.
Team & Site Supervision:
- Manage and supervise site personnel, subcontractors, and equipment operators.
- Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks.
- Allocate tasks to forepersons and monitor workforce productivity.
Technical Oversight:
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Oversee excavation, grading, paving, drainage, and related road construction tasks.
- Inspect and monitor quality control of materials and workmanship.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Enforce site safety rules and regulations in compliance with local laws and standards.
- Ensure all workers use PPE and follow safe work practices.
- Maintain safety documentation (risk assessments, incident reports, etc.).
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain site diaries, records of labor, materials, equipment usage, and progress.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Project Manager or Head Office.
- Handle site logistics and coordinate deliveries and storage of materials.
Scheduling & Budgeting:
- Monitor progress against project schedules and budgets.
- Identify delays or issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage resource planning to meet deadlines.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in road construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or site management role.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Proficient in reading construction plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of road construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Familiar with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and site documentation.
