We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Business Improvement (preferably in Coal Hauling) to drive the modernization and continuous improvement of Runa Persada, and companies in our company. This role is central to transforming our company culture, streamlining processes, and building an organization that is efficient, data-driven, and performance-oriented.

This leader will diagnose issues across culture, systems, and operations, then design and execute structured solutions. Over time, they will build and lead a Business Improvement Team to institutionalize transformation across all levels of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Assessment & Diagnosis


• Conduct comprehensive reviews of culture, organization, processes, and operational systems.


• Identify inefficiencies, risks, and gaps in mining operations, HR practices, and business processes.


• Benchmark Runa Persada against best practices in Indonesian and global mining industries.

Culture & People


• Lead cultural transformation toward a performance-based, professional organization while respecting company values.


• Partner with HR to redesign performance management, career paths, training, and employee engagement.


• Promote accountability, collaboration, and data-driven decision making.

Process & Systems Improvement


• Map and optimize core business processes across mining operations, supply chain, maintenance, and support functions.


• Work with Information System teams to drive digitalization and ERP adoption.


• Standardize workflows, controls, and reporting for consistency across branches and sites.

Operational Excellence


• Implement best-practice frameworks such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen adapted to mining context.


• Develop safety, efficiency, and cost-reduction initiatives across sites.


• Ensure measurable improvements in productivity, uptime, and cost per ton/hour.

Change Management & Execution


• Build trust with employees at all levels through workshops, communication, and role-modeling change.


• Introduce new KPIs and reporting dashboards to track improvement progress.


• Manage cross-functional initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and measurable results.

Leadership & Team Building


• Establish and lead a Business Improvement Team (analysts, process improvement specialists, data support).


• Coach managers and supervisors on modern management practices.


• Act as an advisor to the board on organizational effectiveness and transformation progress.

Qualifications


• 5+ years of experience in business improvement, operations excellence, or organizational development, ideally in mining, heavy industry, or energy.


• Proven record of leading cultural and operational transformations.


• Strong understanding of mining operations, safety, and productivity levers.


• Familiarity with ERP/digital transformation projects is highly preferred.


• Ability to work across multicultural teams and communicate with site workers to executives.


• Excellent problem-solving, facilitation, and change-management skills.


• Strong leadership presence, able to influence and gain trust at all levels.
