Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage critical IT infrastructure (servers, storage, network, middleware) to ensure system uptime and performance.
- Lead incident response and execute emergency actions to minimize downtime during system anomalies.
- Perform regular application deployments and patching activities in WAS environments.
- Execute and supervise database dump, export/import, and related DB operations support.
- Manage and monitor daily/monthly batch jobs, ensuring timely execution and error resolution.
- Ensure operational compliance with ITSM processes for change, deployment, and incident management.
- Support automation of routine tasks using shell or scripting languages (where applicable).
- Provide guidance and support to junior engineers during troubleshooting and shift operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations in an enterprise environment.
- Solid hands-on experience with Linux systems, WAS (e.g., WebLogic, JBoss), and Oracle or similar DBMS.
- Proven ability to manage application deployments, patching, and infrastructure monitoring.
- Experience in batch job scheduling, execution, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with scripting (Shell, Python, etc.) to support automation of operational tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
- In-depth understanding of ITSM principles (incident, change, and deployment management).
- Willingness to participate in 24/7 rotation shifts and lead operational responsibilities during off-hours when needed.
