Role Description
This is an on-site, contract role for a Sous Chef specializing in Indonesian cuisine. The position is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Sous Chef will oversee the preparation, execution, and presentation of authentic Indonesian dishes, ensure food quality and consistency, and lead the culinary team in maintaining kitchen operation standards. Additional responsibilities include inventory management, maintaining compliance with food safety standards, and collaborating on menu planning to showcase the richness of Indonesian culinary traditions.
Qualifications- Proven expertise in preparing and presenting Indonesian cuisine, including knowledge of traditional cooking techniques and recipes.
- Leadership skills to manage and train kitchen staff, foster teamwork, and supervise daily kitchen operations.
- Strong organizational abilities for inventory management, cost control, and coordinating kitchen processes.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices to maintain compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
- Ability to collaborate on menu development and bring creativity to presentations and offerings.
- Experience in high-volume kitchens or luxury dining establishments is a plus.
- Certificate or diploma in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
