Our site, PT Pagatan Usaha Makmur, in Katingan, Central Kalimantan, is seeking a Forest Protection Section Head. This role reports to the Site Manager. The candidate will be responsible for protecting and conserving forest resources from threats such as fires, encroachment, and other illegal activities. The role also ensures compliance with environmental regulations related to forest and natural resource protection, while maintaining overall forest safety and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

The Forest Protection Section Head will be responsible for managing and coordinating all forest protection activities, including developing fire prevention and mitigation strategies, ensuring the protection of forest resources from unsustainable practices, and maintaining effective communication regarding forest protection efforts.

  • Design and implement strategies and policies to protect forests from fires, encroachment, illegal logging, and other unlawful activities.
  • Lead and guide the forest protection team in carrying out their duties, including monitoring, patrolling, and providing rapid response to threats.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, local communities, and partner organizations to strengthen forest protection and promote sustainable forest management.
  • Ensure that planting, reforestation, and conservation activities comply with applicable forestry and environmental regulations.
  • Prepare compliance reports for submission to government authorities and certification bodies (e.g., SPHL and SIPASHUT).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in forest protection or forest management.
  • Strong understanding of forestry and environmental regulations in Indonesia.
  • Excellent leadership, team coordination, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in operational field areas and engage with various stakeholders.
