About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our client team which engaged in Garment Manufacturing (Japanese company), a leading manufacturing and logistics company based in Semarang, Central Java. As our Purchasing Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing our procurement processes to support the company's growth and efficiency objectives. What you'll be doing

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements.
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
  • Manage and lead the purchasing team
  • Managing the purchase order process, including creating and approving purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and resolving any discrepancies
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to the purchasing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement

What we're looking for

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or trading company
  • Strong ability in supplier sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
  • Experience in managing a purchasing team and leading cross-department coordination.
  • Solid understanding of market trends, cost analysis, and budgeting.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a purchasing or procurement management role, preferably within the manufacturing or logistics industry
  • In-depth understanding of procurement best practices, including supply chain management, inventory control, and contract management
  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is highly desirable
  • Willing to work in Semarang
