About the role
We are seeking a proactive Metals Production Supervisor to manage the full lifecycle of our fabrication and assembly line. You will drive continuous improvement across stamping, welding, and painting, ensuring high standards for safety, quality, and output on every shift. This is a critical leadership role focused on floor efficiency.
What you'll be doing
- Production Flow Management: Directly supervise all manufacturing shifts, ensuring seamless execution across the entire workflow: Pipe Making, Press, Stamping, Automated Welding, Painting, Assembly, and Packing.
- Technical & Quality Control: Monitor and maintain technical integrity at critical stages. This includes troubleshooting issues related to stamping dies, robotic welding programs, and ensuring all finished products meet specific quality and tolerance standards.
- Safety & Compliance: Actively enforce all safety protocols (OHS) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the high-risk areas of fabrication, welding, and material handling to maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
- Team Leadership & Development: Manage and motivate a team of operators and technicians. This includes handling shift scheduling, providing on-the-job training, and conducting performance reviews.
- Process Improvement: Drive efficiency initiatives by tracking key manufacturing metrics (e.g., OEE, cycle time). Implement continuous improvement methodologies (like Lean or Kaizen) to reduce scrap and optimize resource utilization.
What we're looking for
- Education: Minimum D3 or S1 (Bachelor's Degree) in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of proven supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment specializing in high-volume metal fabrication, component assembly, or automotive/heavy equipment parts.
- Core Process Expertise: Strong practical knowledge of Press/Stamping operations, automated welding techniques (MIG/TIG), and industrial painting/coating processes.
- System Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to track and manage production materials, inventory, and performance data using an ERP system (e.g., SAP) or an advanced Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
- Quality Focus: Solid understanding of quality control principles and systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF and experience implementing defect reduction strategies.
- Leadership & Decision Making: Proven ability to lead shifts under pressure, quickly resolve production issues, and effectively communicate targets across the floor.
