We are seeking a
Data Scientist
to support YPKBI's transformation through
evidence-based decision-making
. This role will focus on
developing
people analytics
models for students and educators, as well as
building data infrastructure
to support the foundation's long-term educational vision.

The Data Scientist will work closely with the Strategy, HR, and Education Development teams to
analyze trends, evaluate scholarship impact, and generate insights
that shape future talent and student development strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manage data models for
    student performance
    ,
    teacher effectiveness
    , and
    scholarship targeting
    .
  • Build and maintain datasets from multiple sources (academic records, assessments, surveys, HR data, etc.).
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and statistical modeling to uncover patterns and predictive insights.
  • Design and visualize dashboards or reports for decision-makers.
  • Collaborate with HR and Education teams on
    people analytics
    initiatives.
  • Support YPKBI's digital transformation by advising on data architecture and tools.
  • Ensure data privacy and ethical use in line with YPKBI's policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in
    Data Science
    ,
    Statistics
    ,
    Computer Science
    ,
    Mathematics
    ,
    Econometrics
    , or related fields.
  • 2–5 years of experience as Data Scientist, Data Analyst, or similar role.
  • Prior experience in
    education, research, or social development
    institutions is a plus.
  • Experience with
    people analytics
    or
    education data modeling
    preferred.
  • Proficiency in
    Python
    (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) or
    R
    .
  • Strong skills in
    SQL
    and data visualization (Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio).
  • Knowledge of
    machine learning
    ,
    predictive modeling
    , and
    statistical inference
    .
  • Familiarity with data cleaning, ETL processes, and basic data engineering.
  • Bonus: Experience with
    survey analysis
    ,
    longitudinal data
    , or
    natural language processing
    for qualitative data.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking.
  • Ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in presenting complex findings to non-technical audiences.
  • High integrity and commitment to data ethics.
