Position Overview:
The Head of Business Unit will oversee the overall strategy, operations, and performance of the supermarket, convenience store, and grocery chain business in Indonesia. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive retail and F&B experience, a deep understanding of the Indonesian market, and a proven track record in driving business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the business unit's strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Identify and capitalize on market opportunities to drive sustainable growth.
- Build partnerships and strategic alliances to strengthen the brand's footprint in Indonesia.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee day-to-day retail operations across stores, ensuring strong performance and exceptional customer experience.
- Monitor key operational metrics (KPIs) and drive continuous process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, corporate standards, and quality benchmarks.
Business Development
- Lead market expansion efforts, including site selection, new store openings, and potential franchise partnerships.
- Collaborate closely with real estate and project teams to identify and develop high-potential locations.
Brand Management
- Maintain consistent brand identity across all customer touchpoints — marketing, product assortment, and in-store experience.
- Drive localized marketing and promotional initiatives tailored to the Indonesian consumer landscape.
Team Leadership
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team that embodies company values.
- Foster a strong culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.
Financial Accountability
- Manage the full P&L of the business unit to ensure profitability, cost efficiency, and sustainable growth.
- Provide regular business reviews and performance updates to key stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 13 years of experience in the
retail supermarket, convenience store, or grocery chain industry
, with at least 5 years in a senior management position. - Proven experience in leading large-scale retail operations or brand expansion within Indonesia.
- Deep understanding of Indonesian consumer behavior and modern trade dynamics.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in business strategy, operations, and financial management.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Indonesia.
- Strong network within the retail and F&B sectors.
