Job Description:
Assisting the Rector in formulating, implementing, and supervising academic and student policies. The role focuses on education delivery, academic quality, faculty and curriculum management, as well as student welfare and development.
Responsibilities:
Formulation of Academic and Student Policies
Develop institutional policies in academics: curriculum, teaching methods, quality standards, learning evaluation.
- Formulate student affairs policies: student activities, mentoring, welfare programs.
Curriculum and Learning Management
Supervise the design, evaluation, and revision of curricula.
- Ensure teaching methods and assessments meet academic standards and remain relevant to scientific and professional developments.
- Support pedagogical innovation and the integration of technology in education.
Faculty and Teaching Staff Management
Oversee recruitment, professional development, and performance evaluation of faculty.
- Support faculty research and publication activities.
- Establish faculty workload distribution for teaching and research.
Accreditation and Quality Assurance
Ensure study programs and the institution meet national accreditation requirements and pursue international accreditation where applicable.
- Develop and maintain the internal quality assurance system.
Graduate, Professional, and International Education
Manage graduate and professional education programs.
- Facilitate international academic programs and collaborations with overseas institutions.
- Oversee credit transfer, student exchanges, and academic partnerships.
Academic Monitoring and Evaluation
Monitor student academic performance: GPA, graduation rates, dropouts, study duration.
- Track the quality of teaching and graduate outcomes.
- Prepare academic reports for the Rector and supervisory bodies.
Student Services
Provide student support services: academic advising, scholarships, welfare programs.
- Oversee non-academic aspects affecting student life, such as student organizations, extracurricular activities, mental and physical wellbeing.
Academic Development
Propose new study programs when needed and recommend closure or adjustment of less relevant programs.
- Drive educational innovation: blended learning, digital learning, etc.
Inter-Unit Coordination
Collaborate with Faculties, Study Programs, Quality Assurance Unit, and other supporting units.
- Coordinate with other Vice Rectors (e.g., Resources & Development, Admissions & Business) for synergy.
Reporting and Accountability
Provide periodic reports to the Rector and academic stakeholders regarding academic and student affairs performance.
- Ensure transparency and accountability in managing budgets related to academic and student affairs.
