What you will do:

1. Design Research & Insight Gathering

  • Conduct research on consumer cooking behaviors (interviews, observations, surveys).
  • Benchmark international cookware & lifestyle trends (materials, ergonomics, aesthetics).
  • Analyze competitor products (local & imported) to identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Synthesize findings into actionable design briefs.

2. Concept Development

  • Translate insights into product concepts, mood boards, and simple mockups.
  • Generate multiple design directions with clear rationale (the "why").
  • Collaborate with graphic & marketing team to visualize product storylines.

3. User Testing & Validation

  • Prepare prototypes/mockups (can be low-fidelity models).
  • Organize user testing sessions and collect feedback.
  • Document usability issues and propose improvements.

4. Brand & Product Identity

  • Help define SKITCHEN's design language (signature handle, lid knob, surface finish, color palette).
  • Ensure consistency across product families (cast iron, enamel, stainless steel, accessories).

5. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work within R&D team, closely with the operations team, suppliers, and QC to align product feasibility with research.
  • Support Marketing with design insights for storytelling, packaging, and positioning.

Deliverables:

  • Quarterly Research Report (consumer insight, trend deck, competitor study).
  • Product Concept Decks (sketches, mood boards, rationale).
  • User Testing Summaries (feedback & recommendations).
  • Contribution to SKITCHEN's annual product roadmap.

Qualifications:

  • Background in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field.
  • Strong ability in design research, user studies, and trend analysis.
  • Skilled in concept sketching, ideation, and visualization (doesn't need advanced CAD).
  • Strong communication & presentation skills (can translate research into clear direction).
  • Curiosity, empathy, and awareness of cooking culture (local + global).
  • Bonus: Experience in lifestyle/kitchenware/furniture industries.
