We are looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our team at COME XIA, a modern Chinese restaurant.
As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring authentic flavors, high-quality execution, and smooth teamwork across the kitchen brigade.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing daily kitchen operations and step in as acting Head Chef when required.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain food quality and consistency.
- Ensure all dishes meet authentic Chinese taste standards and presentation.
- Oversee prep, wok, dimsum, and hot kitchen sections during service.
- Manage food inventory, control food cost, and handle kitchen ordering.
- Contribute to menu innovation and special seasonal dishes.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as CDP / Sous Chef in Modern Chinese fusion.
- Minimum High School / Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
- Strong technical skills in wok techniques, sauces, dimsum preparation, and stock making.
- Leadership skills with ability to manage kitchen team efficiently.
- Understanding of kitchen inventory, cost control, and recipe standardization.
- Able to work under pressure and handle multiple sections during busy service.
- Willing to be placed in Jakarta Selatan area.
- Passionate about Chinese culinary arts and committed to excellence.
