Position : LEAD ENGINEER

Job Description

The Lead Engineer oversees all engineering activities related to the
EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation)
of a
Central Processing Platform (CPP)
for Ande Ande Lumut heavy crude oil development. This role is pivotal in ensuring technical integrity, regulatory compliance, and seamless coordination across disciplines and contractors.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Report to Project Manager
  • Define engineering scope, deliverables, and execution strategy for the CPP platform.
  • Develop and manage detailed engineering schedules aligned with overall project milestones.
  • Coordinate with procurement, construction, and installation teams to ensure engineering deliverables support execution.
  • Lead a team of discipline engineers (structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, process, process safety and telecom).
  • Interface with third-party engineering contractors, vendors, fabrication yards and regulatory bodies (SKK Migas, MIGAS) and classification societies (ABS, DNV) and third party contractors.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary reviews and ensure alignment across design packages.
  • Ensure designs meet project specifications, industry standards (API, ASME, IEC), and client requirements.
  • Review and approve engineering documents, drawings, and calculations.
  • Resolve technical issues and provide guidance on complex engineering challenges.
  • Identify engineering risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards throughout design and execution.
  • Support HAZOP, SIL, and other safety reviews.
  • Liaise with project management, client representatives, regulatory bodies, and classification societies.
  • Present engineering progress and technical decisions to Project Manager, and stakeholders.
  • Implement engineering quality control processes.
  • Conduct audits and reviews to ensure deliverables meet quality benchmarks.
  • Monitor engineering budget and resource allocation.
  • Optimize team performance and manage subcontractor engineering costs.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related).
  • 15+ years of experience
    in offshore oil & gas projects, preferably CPP platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of EPCI workflows and offshore engineering standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
