SUMMARY OF POSITION:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our EPC project team for a wastewater treatment plant construction project in Jakarta. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mechanical equipment procurement, engineering, and commissioning activities supervised by Senior Mechanical Engineer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Before Purchase Order (BPO) Work
- Prepare and review Material Requisitions and Technical Specification Sheets for mechanical equipment
- Review vendor technical proposals and provide technical evaluations for mechanical equipment
- Participate in technical bid clarification meetings with vendors
- Participate in vendor selection process
After Purchase Order (APO):
- Review and approve vendor drawings and technical documents
- Manage technical communication with vendors to finalize equipment specifications
- Expedite vendor document submissions according to project schedule
- Prepare approval documents for client review and coordinate responses to client comments
- Compile and organize installation instructions and requirements for construction contractors
- Monitor manufacturing progress and testing activities coordinating with Procurement Team.
- Review and develop equipment maintenance manuals
- Review and develop equipment inspection procedures
- Attend factory acceptance tests as required
- Supervise equipment commissioning activities
D Model Coordination
- Request and obtain necessary mechanical equipment information from vendors for 3D modeling
- Ensure timely transmission of equipment data to 3D Coordinators and Piping Engineers
- Review equipment layout and space requirements in 3D model
- Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve interference issues with 3D Model coordinator
- Participate in 3D model review meetings
Interdisciplinary Coordination
Provide timely mechanical equipment information to Civil Engineering team, including:
・Equipment foundation requirements and loads
- ・Anchor bolt layouts and specifications
- ・Equipment access and maintenance space requirements
- ・Embedded plate locations and specifications
- ・Equipment installation sequence requirements
・Dynamic loads and vibration considerations
Participate in regular coordination meetings with Civil Engineering team
- Review civil drawings to ensure mechanical equipment requirements are properly incorporated
- Coordinate with Civil Engineering team for equipment installation methodology
Report and Documentation
- Provide regular status reports to Senior Mechanical Engineer on design progress, issues, and solutions
- Develop and maintain project schedules for mechanical design work
- Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Report critical technical issues promptly with proposed solutions
- Document and communicate lessons learned
- Maintain clear communication channels with all stakeholders
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fluent business level of verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to effectively interact with others and work independently
- Familiarity with Microsoft office software
- Strong personality, positive attitude and ability to work efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical equipment design for industrial plants
- Strong knowledge of international engineering standards
- Knowledge of Indonesian standards and regulations
- Experience in equipment vendor technical evaluation and management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in wastewater treatment plant projects
- Experience in offshore equipment vendor technical evaluation and management.
- Experience in coordination with Civil, Process, Piping and Electrical engineers
- Familiarity with EPC project execution
