As a Senior Manager, Cloud Solution Architect, you'll be a trusted advisor and technical leader, helping public sector and financial services organizations across Southeast Asia navigate cloud with confidence. You will balance strategic vision with hands-on delivery to design future-state architectures, lead complex migrations, and build capabilities that sustain value.
Key responsibilities
- Lead cloud architecture and engineering workstreams, representing PwC as the trusted technical expert in client engagements.
- Assess clients' current-state environments across infrastructure, applications, databases, and APIs; define target-state cloud architectures and roadmaps.
- Own end-to-end architecture design and planning, remaining hands-on through implementation to ensure quality and outcomes.
- Develop cloud strategies, conduct migration assessments, and present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Serve as the technical SME in client discussions, translating complex topics into clear, actionable guidance.
- Lead and coach migration engineering teams: facilitate working sessions, review deliverables, provide technical direction, and step in hands-on when needed.
- Prepare, review, and present documentation including architectures, designs, plans, and operational runbooks.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to building a high-performing, inclusive team.
- Support pre-sales, solutioning, and proposal development, including estimates, approaches, and demos.
- Advise on best practices, security, and responsible cloud operations while upholding PwC's quality and client service standards.
- Engage in cloud conversations with public sector and financial institutions across Southeast Asia, contributing to thought leadership and practice growth.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years designing and implementing private/public/hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions, with at least 5 end-to-end cloud implementations (migration or greenfield).
- Deep, hands-on expertise with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure core services and concepts; experience designing multi-cloud solutions.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, cloud-native patterns, container management, and cloud computing capabilities.
- Solid background in Linux/Unix and/or Windows administration.
- Strong knowledge of networking and core internet protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP) and routing in distributed networks.
- Broad understanding of IT infrastructures and application stacks (compute, storage, network, middleware, databases).
- Experience implementing cloud security controls, network boundary protections, and related toolsets.
- Working knowledge of Agile delivery and DevOps, including Infrastructure-as-Code with tools such as ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation, Terraform, and configuration management (Ansible/Chef/Puppet).
- Proficiency in scripting or programming in one or more languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, C#/.NET.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage stakeholders, with strong communication skills and a track record of simplifying complexity.
Preferred qualifications
- Enterprise Architect certification (e.g., TOGAF) is an advantage.
- One or more technical certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
- Experience working with public sector and/or financial services clients in Southeast Asia.
