Join our Pre-Development team as Senior Specialist Concept Development with proven expertise in conceptual design, project framing, and field development planning to ensure smooth transition from Appraise to Select stages.

Job Purpose

  • Deliver conceptual design during Appraise and Select stages for both Exploration and Development projects.
  • Provide technical expertise to identify, screen, and capture capital conceptual design opportunities.
  • Support Pre Development team in creating credible conceptual development schemes and early facility cost estimates, and schedules in collaboration with Subsurface, Drilling, Operations, SCM, Commercial, and external contractors.
  • Contribute development concept options/framing, risk assessments, cost and schedule ranges, and ensure smooth transition of projects moves from Appraise / Select stage.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide project conceptual design development expertise during Appraise/Select stage and apply concept selection techniques.
  • Facilitate Pre-Development team members as technical specialists through project appraisal and selection processes.
  • Lead project framing studies and maintain relationships with engineering contractors in expertise focus areas.
  • Develop preliminary execution plans with cost engineers and contractors, including cost estimates and project schedules.
  • Identify and assess key risks and issues impacting project cost and schedule; develop outcome ranges and mitigation plans.
  • Promote and support the use of company project management processes.
  • Contribute to project contingency assessment and provide relevant benchmarks.
  • Participate in economic evaluations and apply industry best practices and technologies in early framing.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced development engineers within the group.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Min. 15 years of experience
    in project engineering, project management, or field development conceptual studies.
  • Strong knowledge of decision and risk analysis (D&RA).
  • Proven ability to frame complex scenarios with strong conceptual and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with project management systems and asset life cycle practices.
  • Solid understanding of subsurface issues, uncertainties, and their impact on development planning.
  • Knowledge of extraction technologies, country regulations, and permitting requirements.
  • Experience working in multinational, multicultural environments with cultural sensitivity.
  • Self-starter, proactive problem solver, and effective relationship builder with high integrity and confidentiality.
