About Us
We are a fast-growing SaaS company dedicated to delivering a flawless user experience. Our engineering team is focused on building robust automated testing infrastructure using Playwright, and we're now looking for a Manual QA Analyst to ensure nothing slips past. This role is perfect for someone with a sharp eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a love for finding (and fixing) problems before our users ever see them. Bonus points for exposure to automated testing frameworks.
The Role
As our Manual QA Analyst, you'll:
- Design and execute manual test cases for web-based SaaS applications.
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover defects that scripted tests might miss.
- Act as the first point of contact for user-reported bugs—reproduce, investigate, and document them clearly for the development team.
- Run an ongoing internal "bug bounty" initiative to proactively discover and log issues before they reach production.
- Maintain clear documentation in Confluence, including test plans, regression checklists, and coverage maps.
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and our Automated Test Engineer to prioritise fixes and identify high-value cases for automation.
- Participate in release readiness checks and go/no-go decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Shift Left Testing: Be involved in the requirements phase to review designs, user stories, and acceptance criteria, and to identify potential gaps early.
- Manual Testing: Design, maintain, and run regression, functional, and negative test cases.
- Exploratory Testing: Conduct scenario-based testing to catch subtle and high-impact bugs.
- User Bug Triage: Communicate with users to quickly reproduce and log user-reported issues with all required details (steps, expected vs. actual, environment, evidence).
- Bug Hunting: Proactively search for and document defects in staging and production environments.
- Documentation: Keep test cases, test plans, test run results, bug reports, and coverage documentation up to date and accessible.
- Collaboration: Partner with the QA automation engineer to hand over high-value test cases for automation.
- Release Testing: Execute regression and smoke tests before production deployments.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in manual QA for web-based SaaS products.
- Fluent English—both written and spoken.
- Strong exploratory testing skills and curiosity to find edge cases.
- Proven ability to reproduce and document complex bugs from minimal information.
- Experience using automated testing frameworks such as Playwright
Ideal
- Previous exposure to Playwright, particularly collaborating with automation engineers or contributing basic test scripts.
- Understanding of BDD scenarios and how they interact with automation (a plus).
- Bonus points for accessibility testing, load/stress testing, SQL basics, or experience with Docker/CI environments.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Collaborative and fast-moving environment.
- Opportunities to work alongside skilled automation engineers
- Work on a project used daily by leading global tech companies
