Contract Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Clarify contract requirements with internal teams, including Procurement, User Departments, Finance, Legal, and other relevant departments.
- Prepare contract drafts for various commodities such as supplies, logistics, construction, refineries, refinery surveyor reports, EPCM, consultants, VHS, FMC/MARC, and others, including contract term negotiations.
- Liaise and collaborate with the Procurement and Legal teams to align contract terms with business objectives and ensure compliance with Mining, Environmental, and Safety (MES) standards, company policies, procedures, and applicable government regulations/laws.
- Monitor contract processing timelines, contract expiration dates, structured filing systems, contract registers, and other components of contract administration systems.
- Support supplier selection and evaluation activities, including aligning evaluation results with contractual terms.
- Assist in drafting policies, procedures, and other documents related to the development of the contract management system, such as contract templates, tender package templates, supplier selection and evaluation forms, and contract forms.
- Ensure all contracted vendors comply with required permits and legal documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in any major, with relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of contract business models, contractual language and terms, legal terminology and the contract lifecycle.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in the mining industry or a related field.
- High attention to detail with excellent writing skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken, with strong communication skills.
- Experience in managing FIDIC/EPC contracts is an advantage.
