About the role

LAPO PORSEA' is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team in our South Jakarta restaurant. As Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Chef in overseeing all kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This is a full-time position, with the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, creative environment and contribute to the growth and success of our renowned restaurant.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu development, recipe creation, and implementation
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including staff management, scheduling, and workflow
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, as well as cost control measures
  • Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff to foster a culture of excellence
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and implement innovative cooking techniques
  • Assist in the preparation of special events and catering services as needed

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a high-calibre restaurant or hotel kitchen
  • Formal culinary training or a relevant degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management
  • Proficiency in a variety of cooking methods, with a strong understanding of Indonesian and international cuisines
  • Excellent leadership, team-building, and communication skills
  • Passion for food and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
