Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Platform Engineer with advanced network knowledge and familiarity with VMWare virtualization and container-based environments to join our professional services team.As a Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in setting up and managing our clients' system and ensuring the performance of the solution is optimized and secure.You will be familiar with DC facility requirements, from mounting servers in their racks to preparing them for facility power and cooling requirements and cabling.
You will be responsible for implementing and managing a system based on Apache Nutch, Hadoop, ElasticSearch/Kibana and MySQL, conducting performance assessments as well as providing expertise in mitigating system issues.Responsibilities:
- Deploy and maintain the solution to clients' business requirements.
- Implement Infra and security policies, standards and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system performance are optimized and secured.
- Stay updated with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities and industry trends and proactively recommend and implement appropriate countermeasures.
- Provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams during system/security incidents and investigations.
- Scripting skills for automation (Bash/Python)
- Document system solution configurations, processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field.
- Professional certifications for Linux distributions, certification for Apache/Docker/Kubernetes is favored.
- Product certification for the following Infrastructure scope (at least 1 out of all): Red Hat certified systems administrator/Red Hat certified Engineer/Red hat certified specialist in containers/Ubuntu certified Server
- Familiarity with managing/implementing system solutions and tools at enterprise level.
- Understanding of network traffic and their protocols.
- Familiarity with security standards and frameworks (NIST, CIS) and their application for system solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and system issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with clients, cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
