Indonet have an exciting opportunity to recruit Permit & Government Liaison Coordinator to our business.
Job summary:
Responsible for obtaining, managing and renewing all permits, licenses and government approvals required for the new development, construction, commissioning and existing operation of data center facilities. Acts as the primary liaison with national, provincial and municipal government agencies, utilities, consultants and third-party vendors to ensure regulatory compliance, timely approvals and smooth interfaces between project teams and regulators.
To be considered for this role, ideally you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Public Policy, Government Relations, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Architecture or related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in permits, licensing or government relations. Industry exposures: infrastructure, property or heavy civil projects preferred. Experience with data centers is strongly preferred.
- Proven knowledge of Indonesian permitting processes (OSS/NIB, IMB, Amdal/UKL-UPL, SLF), local government procedures and major ministries/agencies.
- Strong experience coordinating with PLN for high-capacity power connections and with customs (Bea Cukai) for equipment importation.
- Fluent Bahasa Indonesia and strong English (verbal & written).
- Experience working with DPMPTSP, Dinas Lingkungan Hidup, Kominfo, PLN and local fire departments.
- Familiarity with environmental permitting, fuel storage/B3 regulation and wastewater/groundwater permitting.
The key responsibilities for this role include:
- Prepare, submit and follow up all regulatory applications and renewals required for data center projects
- Serve as the official point of contact for regulatory agencies, utility companies and local government units
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (project team, design team, operations and other functions) for all regulatory applications and renewals
- Coordinate meetings, site inspections and socialization/community consultations required for permit processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with key local and regional officials to expedite approvals and resolve issues.
- Proactively monitor and stay updated with the latest laws and regulations applicable to Data Center industry
- Proactively participate in official briefings and socialization regarding newly issued laws and regulations applicable to Data Center industry
- Maintain an organized permit register and supporting documentation repository.
- Ensure all permits and project activities comply with Indonesian laws, local regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate with Legal, HSE, Engineering and Construction teams to incorporate permit conditions into designs and work plans.
- Manage external consultants and contractors involved in permit preparation and submission.
- Oversee scopes, timelines and budgets for permit-related consultant services.
- Support community engagement, socialization events and local employment coordination as required by local regulation or project commitments.
- Manage and escalate community complaints related to permitting or project activities.
